We understand that flexibility is important to our members – it can be tricky to squeeze a workout into a busy day. That’s why the gym facilities at Bass Coast Aquatic and Leisure Centre are available 24/7 for eligible members.
Our 24/7 gym means you’ll have every opportunity to reach your health and fitness goals. At the YMCA, we aim to help people become healthier and happier so removing barriers to entry and providing options that suit all lifestyles is important.
As part of our 24/7 format, you will need to complete an online induction process before being able to access the centre when staff are not available.
For further information or to become a member at Bass Coast Aquatic and Leisure Centre, fill out the enquiry form and a member of our staff will be in contact. You can also call us on 5672 4194.

Frequently asked questions
-
Which memberships include the ability to gain 24/7 access?
All full access (Health and Wellness) members can gain 24/7 access.
24/7 access is not available on Active Adult, off-peak, aquatic or youth memberships. You must be 18 years or older. At no time are under 18s permitted in the gym after staffed hours. This includes with a supervising adult.
Access to eligible memberships are now available at both Bass Coast facilities. If you require access to both facilities now, please speak to staff at the centre when you sign up.
-
How will I gain access to the 24/7 gym?
Members wishing to use the health club outside of regular staffed hours must complete a 24/7 access induction online. You will not have access until the induction has been completed and processed.
Inductions can be completed online – members will be invited to complete the induction by email.
After you complete the online induction, you should have 24/7 gym access within three business days. This does not happen immediately; you’ll receive an email once your membership has been activated.
Once done, you’ll receive a new access fob which can be used to access the centre outside of regular opening hours. Simply scan the fob at the main entrance to open the doors.
Please note that you cannot gain access to the facility using another member’s membership.
-
What facilities will I have access to outside of regular staffed hours?
The facilities available include the gym, foyer toilets and changing rooms. You will not have access to the pool, stadium or aquatic area changing rooms and showers.
-
What are the staffed hours at Bass Coast Aquatic and Leisure Centre?
Please see our opening hours to view our staffed hours.
-
What safety measures are in place for members using the facilities during non-staffed hours?
A state-of-the-art security surveillance system is in place at our centre.
We also provide duress buttons in the health club and foyer toilet facilities. Duress buttons will contact the control room who will arrange for emergency assistance. Mobile duress buttons are also available to be worn while working out or using the changing rooms.
In the foyer area, we have a first aid station and a defibrillator.
The induction process for 27/4 access ensures members understand and agree to comply with safety requirements and emergency procedures.
-
Will the introduction of 24/7 access increase my membership fees or is there an additional cost?
There will be no increases to membership prices related to 24/7 health club access.
There will be no initial charge for an access fob, however if a replacement fob is required, a $10.00 fee is applicable.
-
Will there be any staff working outside of the current opening hours?
No. As is the case with other 24/7 health clubs, the centre will not be staffed outside of the regular opening hours.
-
Will the gym be inaccessible at any time?
No – there will be no set times when the gym facility will be unavailable.
-
What if I don’t want 24/7 access?
You don’t need to do anything. Just continue using your membership within the regular opening hours.
-
What if I can’t access the gym outside of staffed hours?
There are a number of reasons why this may be the case. This could be because:
- money is owed on your account;
- your concession card has expired;
- 24/7 access is still pending (it can take up to three business days to complete the induction process).
Please contact us during staffed hours or visit us in centre to resolve any issues.
